October Bidding and Vacations

Your AFA leadership has been in negotiations with management about October flying. Flight Attendants are aware of tremendous and difficult changes to September and, potentially, October schedules. October bidding has been pushed to the following:

Bidding opens:

September 18 at 1800 CT

Bidding closes:

September 23, 2021 at 1200 CT

Currently, vacations have been cancelled for October.

The delay in bidding was necessitated by GoJet’s need to pull down more flying because of a continued staffing shortage. By this weekend, management will have a full picture of the United flying reduction and how it will impact Flight Attendants. Our goal is to get some compensatory or quality-of-life relief for Flight Attendants. Look for an update on Monday.

Your AFA Officers are flying a lot, just like everyone, and we know this is both unfair and unsustainable. In the meantime, if you are having difficulty, please reach out to the AFA Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
